Mixed bag of options trades today with no major theme.

  1. F – Large seller today of the Jan14 15 calls, trading 75k at 0.50, likely overwriting a long stock position.  F has not traded above 15 since May of 2012.
  2. JCP – Stock closed down 17% after terrible earnings.  One very large print, a buyer of 30k x 60k of the May 16/12 1×2 put spread paying 0.68.
  3. MS – The Apr 22 put traded over 26k on the day, mostly buying as implied vol on the line moved 2.5 points higher.  Stock closed 2012 at 19.12, so someone likely protecting some gains.
  4. AMTD – Large buyer of the Aug 23 calls, with one large print of 37,402 trading at 0.25 this morning.  Total of 42k traded on the day.  AMTD last traded above 23 in 2008.
  5. LOW – Interesting trade:  trader sold 25,600 of the Apr 36 calls, bought 25,600 of the Oct 42 calls, collected 1.29 on the package, both lines to open.
  6. BAC – Large collar traded.  Someone bought 28k of the Jan14 10 puts, and sold same number of Jan14 12 calls, likely protecting recent gains.
  7. DELL – Someone rolled 10k of the Mar 14 calls out to the Jan14 13 calls, 1.20 for the package.
  8. TXN – Big day in general.  55K options trade versus 13K average.  As Dan pointed out, the Jan14 35 calls traded over 16K times, the Jan14 40 strike almost 8K times.  March 34 and 35 puts each traded 10K times.  Unclear if as a spread.
  9. CIM – 10k of the Apr 3 calls trade at an average price of 0.124, buyer initiating.
  10. IWM – The Mar16 88 puts traded 10k vs. the Mar16 85 puts trading 25k, possibly someone rolling up protection.
