Too Many Options – $TLT and $FB active

TLT and FB dominated option volumes today.

  1. FB – Most active lines were the Feb 31 puts, the weekly 34 calls, and the Feb 32 calls, all trading more than 26k.  Call to put ratio was 1.4.  Stock currently trading down 2.5% after the report.
  2. TLT – A large roll trade.  Someone sold 50k of the Feb 120 puts, to buy 50k of the Mar 116 puts, collecting 1.50 on that.  Likely someone rolling their hedge down and out.
  3. COP – Large hedge trade at 11:30 am.  Trader bought the Aug 57.5 / 47.5 put spread for 1.80 ahead of earnings tonight.
  4. EXC – Trader bought 20k of the Jan14 35 / 45 call spread for 0.60.  Stock has been a big loser the past 5 years.
  5. JPM – Someone bought 8k of the Apr 50 calls for 0.58, playing for a long-term breakout.
  6. SPLS – Someone bought 33k of the Sept 15 calls with an avg price of around 0.75.  SPLS has rallied 20% to start 2013 from 5 year lows around 11.
  7. NTAP – The Jun 32 / 42 risk reversal traded, more than 20k times, around 0.30.  Stock reports earnings in 2 weeks.
  8. RIMM – Weekly 15 put traded more than 20k, mostly buying.  The stock broke 12% lower today on its largest single stock volume day in its trading history.
  9. AMZN – Feb1st 270 put was the most active line, trading almost 20k.
  10. AAPL – Call to put ratio was at 1.6 today.  Weekly 460 calls and puts were the most active lines, trading 28k and 24k respectively.
