Tech Earnings this Week

Below is a quick look at 4 tech earnings that I am watching this week.  I wanted to quickly touch on the implied move in the options market, price action and sentiment……Check back over the next day or so to get commentary and strategies…..

DELL $15.50

-Company reports their fiscal Q2 today after the close.

-options market is currently implying about a 6.5% move vs the average move of about 5.5% over the last 8 qtrs.

-Street fairly mixed on the name with 19 Buys, 18 Holds and 4 Sells.

-Latest reading on short interest remains fairly high for the name at almost 5%.

-Stock is up 14% ytd vs the Nasdaq which is down about 4%.

NTAP $44.34

-Company report’s their fiscal Q1 Wednesday after the close.

-options market is currently implying about a 7.5% move vs the average move of about 6.15% over the last 8 qtrs.

-Street is relatively positive on the name with 28 Buys, 14 Holds and no Sells.

-Short interest looks fairish relative to recent past a little below 5%.

-Stock is down19% ytd, up 13% since the lows last week and down about 35% from the 52 week high.

SINA $106.30

-Company report’s their fiscal Q2 Wednesday after the close.

-options market is currently implying about a 10% move vs the average move of about 5.9% over the last 8 qtrs.

-Street is fairly mixed on the name with 13 Buys, 9 Holds and 4 Sells.

-Short interest while down a couple percent is still very high at about  10% of the float.

-Stock is up 54% ytd, up ~28% since the lows last week and down about 27% from the 52 week high.

-Company report’s their fiscal Q2 Thursday after the close.

-options market is currently implying about a 5.5% move vs the average move of about 3.5% over the last 8 qtrs, but this excludes some huge gaps lower on pre-announcements.

-Street is fairly mixed on the name with 18 Buys, 20 Holds and 2 Sells.

-Short interest only about 1% of the float.

-Stock is down 23% ytd, up 9% since the lows last week and down about 35% from the 52 week high.
